Sometimes, a dentist will add supplemental bone after an extraction to preserve the socket or in preparation for implants. Bone grafting is priced by the cubic centimeter and the amount of grafting is determined by the dentist. How much is a cubic centimeter? It is equal to 1 ml.

When the dentist does bone grafting in conjunction with implants, he will either place the implant at the same time as the graft or will have the patient return in a few months.
